Plot summary
Will Rogers, who owns a big cattle ranch, orders Ben, Thomas and Eli Caine, sheep farmers, to sell off their animals. The brothers steal a shipment of gold coins bound for the Rogers, and Ben is wounded as they get away. The Rogers find him at his home and hang him while his wife Maria is made to watch. They burn the ranch of Thomas and Eli, who give Maria a third share of the money. Maria carries it to a ghost town in the dunes, where Manuel lives alone, a gunfighter who wears a black leather glove in duels and was once her lover. She asks him to avenge Ben, and he agrees.
