Plot summary
Six victims were found with their eyes cut out, six with their ears cut off and three with their tongues removed. In an anonymous American town, the man the police are looking for is Tom Gerrick, a Wall Street whiz kid who is also a serial killer. Detectives Jim Renart and Dorothy Smith have the case, and their superior presses them to make an arrest. By his fourth victim who lost a tongue, Gerrick has grown tired of his own success. He contacts the police himself, saying he has found the body of a sixteen-year-old girl in the street, and he offers himself for questioning.
