Tom Finnegan

Tom Finnegan is an American actor who came to acting late. Born in Framingham, Massachusetts, and raised in Boston, he spent 21 years in the US Army before leaving in 1973 as a Chief Warrant Officer. He started stage work after retirement, studying at Ohio Dominican College in Columbus on the G.I. Bill. There he appeared in The Sound of Music and starred in Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf? and Hogan's Goat, plus other community theater productions in Ohio. He moved to Los Angeles in 1980 to pursue film and television, joining SAG, AFTRA and AEA within six months. His most notable film role was Oly, who runs the repo yard, in the cult classic Repo Man (1984). In 1992 he was the main performer in a Fedex commercial called Secretary, which Entertainment weekly picked as the year's best commercial and Time named runner-up. He earned a master's degree in theater arts from California State University, San Bernardino in 2013.
