Stefano DiMatteo
Biography
Stefano DiMatteo is an actor who began his career in his hometown of Toronto before moving to Vancouver, where he studied at the Lyric School for acting while pursuing screen work full time. Early supporting parts came on Cold Squad, in the pilot of Stargate Atlantis, and in The Lizzie McGuire Movie and The Chronicles Riddick. After returning to Toronto he took roles on Kevin Hill, Queer as Folk, Beautiful People and the television movie Absolution, and played a Cuban diplomat in Across the River to Motor City. He appeared as a National Guardsman in George A. Romero's Survival of the Dead (2009), which premiered at the 66th Venice Film Festival, and as an ambitious coach in The Cutting Edge 3: Chasing the Dream (2008). He also directed the romantic comedy Communication Breakdown, which won him a Best Short Film award at the MIFF Festival.
