Biography
Sheena Easton, a singer, songwriter and actress from Scotland, first gained attention on the 1980 BBC reality program The Big Time: Pop Singer. Raised in Bellshill, Lanarkshire, she signed with EMI and scored hits with Modern Girl and 9 to 5, which topped the Billboard Hot 100 in America as Morning Train. She sang the James Bond theme For Your Eyes Only and received the Grammy for Best New Artist in 1982. Her work with Prince included the 1987 concert film Sign o' the Times, and she had a hit duet with Kenny Rogers, We've Got Tonight. The 1984 album A Private Heaven shifted her toward dance-pop with Strut and Sugar Walls. A second Grammy came for Me Gustas Tal Como Eres with Luis Miguel. She acted on Miami Vice and voiced Sasha in All Dogs Go to Heaven 2 (1996).

Early training
Easton's top school grades won her a scholarship to Glasgow's Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama. There, from 1975 to 1979, she trained as a speech and drama teacher, choosing teaching over performing so she could perfect her singing.
