1. A change of course

   Takeda started out on camera, working as a TV news reporter in Pocatello, Idaho, in 1990. He later switched to producing at stations in Toledo, Ohio, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and Denver, Colorado.

2. Early training

   Takeda trained in improvisational comedy at the Upright Citizens Brigade in Los Angeles. In Denver, he appears regularly with an improv troupe.

3. Behind the camera

   Takeda runs Takeda Entertainment, a production company behind corporate films and documentaries. He wrote, directed and produced its 1996 documentary The Holocaust: Colorado Remembers, which earned an Emmy nomination.

4. Behind the camera

   Takeda wrote, directed and starred in The Outsider, a 2017 short film that premiered at the Denver Film Festival in November 2017. It came in second for the True Grit Award for Colorado Filmmakers.

5. A role that slipped away

   Takeda filmed two supporting roles, but his scenes were ultimately cut from both. The films were Fair Game and Little Fockers, both released in 2010.

6. First role

   Takeda's first television acting job was a guest star role on The CW show Easy Money, which came in 2009.
