1. First role

   Dupuis made his first film appearance in a 1987 short experimental work. It took its title from Anémique Cinéma, a 1926 avant-garde film by Marcel Duchamp and Man Ray, and drew inspiration from that earlier movie.

2. First role

   Dupuis's first major screen role came as Yves in Being at Home with Claude, the 1991 film directed by Jean Beaudin from Johanne Boisvert's screenplay of René-Daniel Dubois's 1986 stage play.

3. Getting ready for a role

   For The Rocket, Dupuis played Maurice Richard, and his own hockey experience and ability to skate on authentic period hockey skates proved useful in a film that cast several professional hockey players in supporting roles.

4. Early training

   After finishing high school, Dupuis went to Montreal to study acting at the National Theatre School of Canada, and he graduated from that school in 1986.

5. Beyond film

   After a fourteen year absence from the stage, Dupuis returned in 2008 for a limited run as Ian in Blasté, Jean-Marc Dalpé's French translation of Sarah Kane's play Blasted, directed by Brigitte Haentjens.
