Biography

Robert Ginnaven was an American film and television actor whose screen roles were mostly small and often uncredited. Raised in Memphis, he earned an English degree at the University of Memphis, where a classmate encouraged him to audition for a student production, and afterward he went to New York City to train with Lee Strasberg. He also presented weather and hosted a talk show at KATV before spending the rest of his career in advertising. He made his film debut as Father Duane in Encounter with the Unknown (1972). In 1981 he was uncredited in three episodes of Dallas, and he had a part in White Lightning as a friend of Ned Beatty's Sheriff J.C. Connors. One False Move (1992), with him as Deputy Charlie, was his eighteenth and last movie, and some websites named it as the film he was best known for; the same year he appeared as Matthew Carlson in an episode of Dangerous Curves.
