Peter Capell

Biography

Peter Capell was a German actor whose screen career began in 1945 and continued until 1985. Born in Berlin in 1912, he worked in film, television, and radio. His first role came in Winterset soon after the Second World War, and his last was in Mamas Geburtstag, a year before his death in 1986. Both were television productions. He appeared in numerous television series and mini-series, and he acted in old-time radio programs including Dimension X. In film, he was seen in Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory (1971). He also appeared in the 1957 Stanley Kubrick war film Paths of Glory and narrated its opening sequence; the film co-starred Kirk Douglas. His other television work included Blue Light, Alexander Zwo, and Derrick.
