Peter Billingsley
Biography
Peter Billingsley is an American actor and filmmaker who started out as a child in television commercials, making his first acting appearance at age two in a 1973 Geritol ad. During the 1970s and early 1980s he appeared in roughly 120 commercials and became familiar as Messy Marvin for Hershey's chocolate syrup. His early film roles included Death Valley (1982), and he starred as Ralphie Parker in A Christmas Story (1983), a part that earned him a Young Artist Award nomination and remains the role he is most associated with; he returned to it in A Christmas Story Christmas (2022). Other acting credits include Russkies (1987) and Arcade (1993). Moving behind the camera, he was an executive producer on The Break-Up (2006) and Iron Man (2008), acted in both, and directed Couples Retreat (2009) and Term Life. He also co-produced the Broadway musical version of A Christmas Story.
