Plot summary
Alex Manning is a suburban teenager whose mother died by suicide. She goes with her friends to Dante's Inferno, a local video arcade where a computer company CEO is test-marketing a new virtual reality game called Arcade. The CEO hands out free home console copies and talks up the game. Teens who play and lose find themselves trapped inside the game's virtual world, where the villain Arcade controls their minds.
