Biography

Nick Castle is an American filmmaker and actor best known for playing Michael Myers in John Carpenter's Halloween (1978). Born in Los Angeles, he was a USC classmate of Carpenter and assisted on the production of Dark Star (1974), in which he also played the beach ball alien. He co-wrote Escape from New York (1981) with Carpenter and wrote the screenplay for Hook. Castle then turned to directing, taking the helm of The Last Starfighter (1984), The Boy Who Could Fly (1986), Dennis the Menace (1993), and Major Payne (1995), and he wrote and directed Tap. He later appeared as Myers again in Halloween (2018) and Halloween Kills (2021), and he wrote August Rush. His screenplay for The Boy Who Could Fly won a Saturn Award for Best Writing.
