Nacho Vigalondo

Nacho Vigalondo, born in Cabezón de la Sal, is a Spanish filmmaker whose career began with the 2003 short 7:35 in the Morning, an eight-minute film about a bomber who terrorizes a cafe. It brought him an Academy Award nomination for Best Short Film, a European Film Awards nomination, the Bronze Moon of Valencia at Cinema Jove and the Prix UIP Drama from the Drama Short Film Festival. He made his first feature, Timecrimes (2007), and acted in it too, then directed the alien invasion story Extraterrestre, filmed in Spanish, in 2011, the year he was reported to be attached to an adaptation of Mark Millar's Supercrooks. Open Windows (2014), a techno-thriller, was his first English-language film. He wrote and directed Colossal in 2016, a kaiju-inspired film, and directed the Hulu release Pooka in 2018 for the Into the Dark series. His television directing includes episodes of The Neighbor, Justo antes de Cristo and Stories to Stay Awake.
