Mark Ronson

Biography

Mark Ronson is a British and American record producer, songwriter, DJ and musician who first became known as a club DJ in New York City in the early 1990s and later moved into production. After his 2003 debut album Here Comes the Fuzz and a brief spell with Elektra Records, he founded his own label, Allido Records. Production for Lily Allen, Christina Aguilera and Amy Winehouse brought wider recognition, and his work on Winehouse's Back to Black earned him a Grammy for Producer of the Year. The covers album Version (2007) yielded the hits Stop Me and Valerie and a Brit Award for British Male Solo Artist. Uptown Funk, his 2014 single with Bruno Mars, topped the UK and US charts. He co-wrote Shallow for A Star Is Born (2018), winning an Academy Award and a Golden Globe, produced albums for Duran Duran, appeared in the documentary Amy (2015), and executive produced the soundtrack for Barbie (2023).
