Biography

Liam Gallagher is an English singer and songwriter who co-founded the rock band Oasis and remains its frontman. Born in Manchester, he joined a band called the Rain as its vocalist before it became Oasis, with his brother Noel taking on guitar and songwriting. The group's debut, Definitely Maybe (1994), and its follow-up, (What's the Story) Morning Glory? (1995), were critical and commercial successes during the Britpop era, while Be Here Now (1997) set a record as the UK's fastest-selling album. After Oasis split in 2009, Gallagher formed Beady Eye, which released two albums before disbanding in 2014. He launched a solo career in 2017 with As You Were, which topped the UK Albums Chart, and later released Why Me? Why Not (2019) and C'mon You Know (2022). In 2010, Q magazine readers voted him the greatest frontman of all time, and in 2019 he received MTV Europe's Rock Icon award. He appeared in the documentary As It Was (2019).
