Margaret Lee
Biography
Margaret Lee was a British actress who became a leading lady in Italian cinema during the 1960s and 1970s. Born in Wolverhampton and raised in London, she trained at the Italia Conti Theatre School, graduating in 1960, and soon moved to Rome to pursue films. Her first screen role came in a sword and sandal adventure, Fire Monsters Against the Son of Hercules (1962), but it was a string of Italian comedies and parodies that initially made her a star in Italy. She then turned to Eurospy films, frequently cast as a femme fatale, and the producer Harry Alan Towers brought her wider international recognition in Circus of Fear (1966), Our Man in Marrakesh (1966), Five Golden Dragons (1967) and Venus in Furs (1969). She also worked on Italian television, and retired from movies after the crime comedy Neapolitan Sting (1983).
