Lenore Lonergan
Biography
Lenore Lonergan was an American stage and film actress whose career ran through the 1930s, 1940s and 1950s. Born in Ohio into a family of actors, she appeared in Paramount films as a child in 1933 and made her Broadway debut at six in Mother Lode, starring Melvyn Douglas. At eleven she joined the original Broadway cast of The Philadelphia Story as the younger sister to Katharine Hepburn's character; Variety called her acceptably precocious. She later took juvenile parts in Junior Miss and Dear Ruth. Her other credits included Crime Marches On and Fields Beyond, plus the film Tom, Dick and Harry (1941). Her later movies included Westward the Women (1951) and The Lady Says No (1951), along with The Whistle at Eaton Falls. The Film Daily and Photoplay both praised her work in Tom, Dick and Harry. Her television work included Holiday Hotel, Celebrity Time, and Janet Dean, Registered Nurse.
