Biography

Larry Lamb is an English actor and radio presenter, born in Edmonton, Middlesex, who turned to performing after time in Canada, where he acted at the Stratford Festival in 1975 and 1976. On returning to Britain he became a regular cast member of the BBC ferry soap Triangle, playing chief engineer Matt Taylor from 1981 to 1983. Early film work included a minor speaking part in Superman III in 1983, and he later appeared in Buster (1988) and Essex Boys (2000). He played Michael Shipman in Gavin & Stacey from 2007 to 2010, returning for a 2019 Christmas special and the 2024 finale. In 2008 he began the role of Archie Mitchell in EastEnders, and he took the part of General McKee in Blood: The Last Vampire (2009). He won Best Villain at the 2010 British Soap Awards and joined New Tricks as Ted Case. He has presented a Sunday morning show on LBC.
