Joseph Campanella
Biography
Joseph Campanella was an American actor who worked in film and television for roughly six decades, appearing in over two hundred parts from the early 1950s through 2009. He grew up in Manhattan and studied drama at Columbia University before a stint as a radio sportscaster. His best-known television work included Joe Turino on Guiding Light between 1959 and 1962, Lew Wickersham on Mannix in 1967 and 1968, and Brian Darrell on The Bold Ones: The Lawyers from 1969 to 1972. Later he played Harper Deveraux on Days of Our Lives, appeared repeatedly on The Bold and the Beautiful as Jonathan Young between 1996 and 2005, hosted Science International, narrated the Disney Channel series Discover, and voiced Dr. Curt Connors in Spider-Man: The Animated Series. On Broadway, he earned a Tony nomination for A Gift of Time in 1962. He also received Primetime and Daytime Emmy nominations. His later film credits included For Heaven's Sake (2008).
