Jon Cedar
Biography
Jon Cedar was an American actor who took more than sixty roles in television and film over his career. Born in Detroit in 1931, he began acting in high school theater productions there, later toured in stage musicals and off-Broadway shows, among them touring productions of South Pacific, Irma La Douce and The Deputy, and performed with the Hollywood troupe the Players Ring. On television he had a recurring part as the timid Corporal Karl Langenscheidt on Hogan's Heroes from 1965 to 1971, and he turned up in series such as Kojak, The Rockford Files, Barnaby Jones and Murder, She Wrote, with a last television appearance on The Inside in 2005. He co-wrote, produced and acted in The Manitou (1978), and his films included The Execution of Private Slovik (1974), Day of the Animals (1977), Capricorn One (1978), The Concorde... Airport '79 (1979), Death Hunt (1981) and Messenger of Death (1988).
