John Noble

John Noble is an Australian actor born in Port Pirie who began his career in theater during the 1970s and 1980s, spent ten years as artistic director for South Australia's Stage Company, and was a trustee for the Adelaide Festival Centre while chairing the Adelaide Festival of the Arts. After making his film debut in the 1988 horror movie The Dreaming, he became better known internationally as Denethor in The Lord of the Rings trilogy. He won awards for playing scientist Walter Bishop in Fringe across five seasons, and later took the role of Morland Holmes in Elementary. His voice work often leans toward villains, including the Dragon Spirit in The Last Airbender (2010), Brainiac in Superman: Unbound (2013), Unicron in Transformers: Prime and Transformers Prime Beast Hunters: Predacons Rising (2013), and Scarecrow in the video game Batman: Arkham Knight. He made his debut on Severance in 2025.
