Plot summary
John and Judith Peterson's daughter Lynne is killed by a drunk driver on her high school graduation day, the same day she was given an award for safe driving. Tom Fiske, the businessman who caused the accident, shows no remorse, and John becomes obsessed with seeing him punished. Fiske hires a defense attorney who delays the trial and has his blood sample suppressed as evidence. In court, the prosecutor Martin Sawyer faces technicalities and maneuvers from the defense, and the judge rules for the defense again and again.
