Jeremy Kemp

Jeremy Kemp was an English actor who trained at Central School of Speech and Drama and used his mother's maiden name professionally. In 1958 he won the Carleton Hobbs Bursary and joined the Radio Drama Company. On television he joined Z-Cars among its first cast, playing PC Bob Steele for a little over a year, and later appeared in Colditz, Space: 1999, Star Trek: The Next Generation, War and Remembrance, The Winds of War and Murder, She Wrote. He played King Leontes in the BBC's The Winter's Tale (1981) and Cornwall in a 1983 King Lear opposite Laurence Olivier. In the 1960s and 1970s he worked often in film, in second male leads or major supporting parts. His movies included Dr. Terror's House of Horrors (1965), Operation Crossbow (1965), The Blue Max (1966), Darling Lili (1970), The Seven-Per-Cent Solution (1976) and Top Secret! (1984), plus A Bridge Too Far and Four Weddings and a Funeral.
