James Black
Biography
James Black, born in Lima, Ohio, is an American actor who also played professional football. He played college football for Akron, where he was named the conference's offensive player of the year in 1983. He signed with the Cleveland Browns in 1984 and became the first Akron player to appear in the NFL. He later turned to acting and is best known for playing Agent Michael Hailey in The Burning Zone, a UPN science fiction drama. His television work includes Star Trek: Deep Space Nine, Six Feet Under, Burn Notice, and The Closer. In film, he played Victor Erickson in Cappuccino, a direct-to-video film from 1998, and appeared in Universal Soldier: The Return (1999), The Replacements, Out of Sight, and Love and a Bullet. He played boxer Earnie Shavers in the HBO movie Don King: Only in America.
