Jacqueline Kim

Jacqueline Kim is an American actress, writer, filmmaker and composer who began performing in theater at age four and studied at the Theatre School at DePaul University in Chicago. Raised in Bloomfield Hills, Michigan, she worked on Chicago stages and spent four seasons at the Guthrie Theater in Minneapolis, playing Nina in The Seagull and the title role in Electra. She settled in Los Angeles at the end of 1993, and her early screen parts included Star Trek Generations (1994), Barry Levinson's Disclosure (1994) and Volcano (1997). In 1999 she appeared in Brokedown Palace as a Bangkok lawyer. Her breakout was Eric Byler's Charlotte Sometimes, which the critic Roger Ebert supported and featured at his Overlooked Film Festival, and which brought her a FIND Independent Spirit Award nomination. She also played Lao Ma in Xena: Warrior Princess, won a 2004 LA Drama Critics' Circle award for Passion, and co-wrote, produced and composed Advantageous (2015).
