George Wyner
Biography
George Wyner is an American actor. Born in Boston, he studied drama at Syracuse University, graduating in 1968. By the early 1970s he had become an in-demand character actor. After appearing in producer Steven Bochco's short-lived 1976 series Delvecchio, Wyner was cast as Irwin Bernstein, an assistant district attorney, on Hill Street Blues, the NBC police procedural, from 1981 to 1987; Bochco later cast him in L.A. Law, NYPD Blue, Brooklyn South and Doogie Howser, M.D. On film, Wyner is known for playing Colonel Sandurz in Spaceballs (1987), and his supporting roles include My Favorite Year (1982), To Be or Not to Be (1983), The Devil's Advocate (1997), American Pie 2 (2001), A Serious Man (2009) and Trouble with the Curve (2012). He also played the lead role of Deputy Max Rubin on the sitcom She's the Sheriff from 1987 to 1989.
