Erwin Connelly

Biography

Erwin Connelly was an American actor who built a career in vaudeville and on the stage before becoming known for silent films in the 1920s. He was born in Chicago, Illinois, and started out on the stage, gaining popularity on the vaudeville circuit over nearly two decades of theatrical work. In 1919 he appeared at New York's Alhambra Theatre in the play The Tale of a Shirt. He afterward moved to Los Angeles and signed with Metro and Universal Studios, taking roles in a number of notable pictures during the 1920s. He kept working in films through the decade and died in 1931. He was known for his work in silent films.
