Emily Lloyd

Emily Lloyd is a British retired actress who was cast in her first film role as a teenager and won leading critics' awards for it. Born in London, she trained at the Italia Conti School and, at 16, took the lead in Wish You Were Here (1987), which brought her Best Actress prizes from the National Society of Film Critics and the Evening Standard British Film Awards and a BAFTA nomination. She went on to star in Cookie (1989) and In Country (1989), and appeared in A River Runs Through It (1992), When Saturday Comes (1996) and Welcome to Sarajevo (1997), often in supporting parts. She played the lead in the independent film The Honeytrap (2002) and starred in Riverworld (2003), and on stage took the role of Eliza Doolittle in Pygmalion at the Albery Theatre. She published an autobiography, Wish I Was There, in 2013.
