Doug Allen

Biography

Doug Allen is a British actor who came to screen acting by an unusual route. He left school at 15 and worked in the family business before joining the London Fire Brigade at 27; while going through the brigade's selection process he auditioned successfully for Gangster No. 1 (2000) and decided on acting instead. In 2001 he took the part of Sergeant Alton More in Band of Brothers, and from 2001 to 2002 he played Nathan Williams in the BBC soap opera EastEnders. Later credits include the television movie Tough Love in 2002, the BBC and HBO series Five Days in 2007, and Nightshooters in 2018. In 2020 he played ex-convict Les Dalton in Hello Darlin, winning the Diamond Award for Best Male Actor at that year's Mindfield Film Festival. In 2022 he had a recurring part as Commodore Francombe in the third season of Das Boot.
