David Nykl

Biography

David Nykl is a Czech-Canadian performer who has built a career in film, television, commercials and theater, working often in Vancouver and Prague. Born in Prague, he left Czechoslovakia with his family after the Soviet invasion of 1968 and settled in Canada. In 1994 he helped found the Prague company Misery Loves Company with Richard Toth and Ewan McLaren, and he has produced theater and film projects. Science fiction audiences know him for playing Dr. Radek Zelenka, the Czech scientist on Earth's expedition to Atlantis, in Stargate Atlantis, and he returned to the role for The Pegasus Project, an episode of Stargate SG-1. In the DC Comics series Arrow, he played Anatoly Knyazev, and in 2012 he made a guest appearance on Once Upon a Time. He speaks Czech, English, French and Spanish.
