Darla Fay

Biography

Darla Fay is a Canadian actress who began pursuing acting at 36, after years as a preschool teacher, childcare counselor and youth worker. Born in Surrey in 1963, she had appeared in high school theater but joined a Vancouver theater group as an adult. Her first play there was Beyond Therapy, and she also acted in Four Dogs and a Bone. After four years with the company, she found an agent and started auditioning for film and television. Her early auditions often ended in rejection, but she received small roles, the first being a 2004 episode of Da Vinci's Inquest. She later had minor roles in License to Wed, Masters of Horror and Why Did I Get Married? (2007). She is best known as the mother of the title character's boyfriend in the Academy Award-nominated Juno (2007), and she also appeared in Love Happens (2009), starring Jennifer Aniston and Aaron Eckhart.
