Claudine Auger

Claudine Auger was a French actress who began as a model and became known for playing the Bond girl Domino Derval in Thunderball (1965). Born in Paris, she earned the title Miss France Monde in 1958 and was first runner-up in that year's Miss World contest. Jean Cocteau cast her in an uncredited ballerina role in Testament of Orpheus (1960). Terence Young directed her in Thunderball, which launched a European film career but did little for her in the United States, and her accent led to another actress dubbing her voice. She co-starred with Yul Brynner and Christopher Plummer in the World War II drama Triple Cross (1966), again under Young, and appeared with Ursula Andress in Anyone Can Play (1967). Other credits included the giallo Black Belly of the Tarantula (1971) and Flic Story (1975). Her television work included Medical Center in 1972, The Man Who Married a French Wife, and The Memoirs of Sherlock Holmes in 1994.
