Cec Linder
Biography
Cec Linder was a Polish-born Canadian actor whose career spanned film, television and radio. Raised in Timmins, Ontario, he first worked at CKGB in Timmins as an announcer. During the 1950s and 1960s he found steady work in Britain, often cast as Canadian or American characters. On television his best-remembered role was the paleontologist Roney in Quatermass and the Pit, a BBC serial (1958 to 1959). In film he was known as CIA agent Felix Leiter, a friend of James Bond, in Goldfinger (1964), and he appeared as Doctor Keegee in Lolita (1962). He accumulated more than 225 credits, was a regular on the CBS soap operas The Secret Storm and on The Edge of Night, and in the 1980s played District Attorney Jack Welles in several Perry Mason revival films. He also played Crown Attorney Spenser on the Canadian crime series Seeing Things. His final work was in two episodes of Sweating Bullets (1991), and he died in 1992.
