Candy Candido
Biography
Candy Candido was an American voice actor and radio performer whose four-octave speaking voice could swing from a squeaky soprano to a gruff bass, a range that earned him the nickname The Man of a Thousand Voices. Radio listeners knew him for the drawn-out line about feeling mighty low that he repeated on Jimmy Durante's program, and the two men recorded a song of that title together. He became a familiar voice in Disney animation, playing the Indian Chief in Peter Pan (1953), one of Maleficent's goons in Sleeping Beauty (1959) and the Captain of the Guard and the crocodile in Robin Hood (1973), and his own favorite part was the peg-legged bat Fidget in The Great Mouse Detective (1986). He also worked on The Phantom Tollbooth (1970) and Hey Good Lookin' (1982), and appeared in live-action films such as Sadie McKee (1934), Roberta (1935) and The Great Rupert (1950), sometimes as a bassist or vocalist.

Beyond film
Candy Candido repeated "I'm feelin' miiiighty low" each week on Jimmy Durante's radio show, which made the line a national catchphrase. The running gag grew so familiar that he and Durante recorded a song with that title.
Own stunts
Candy Candido's speaking voice spanned four octaves: he delivered lines in his normal tenor, then jumped to a high soprano or plunged into a gruff bass.
