Plot summary
Long ago the ice wizard Winterbolt ruled the North Pole until Lady Boreal, who rules the Northern Lights, sent him into a deep sleep. Years later he wakes; Lady Boreal has spent the last of her power on a newborn reindeer, Rudolph, whose nose glows red and will go dark if he ever turns it to evil. Winterbolt resolves to be rid of him. That summer, Milton the ice cream man arrives by hot air balloon. He wants to marry Laine Loraine, whose mother Lilly runs the Circus by the Sea, and a crook named Sam Spangles means to buy the show. Milton asks Rudolph and Frosty's family to star in it. Frosty says the summer heat would melt them, so Winterbolt offers magic amulets that hold only until the last firework of the Fourth of July.
