Baynes Barron

Biography

Baynes Barron was an American actor who worked in film and television, starting his screen career in 1946 with The Secret of the Whistler. Born in New York, he made his television debut in 1951 on The Adventures of Kit Carson, and he was often cast in a wide range of roles, among them a starring turn as Ace Benton in the 1959 film Speed Crazy. He starred as Chief Maranka in From Hell It Came (1957) and as Sergeant Mack Clyde in The Strangler (1964), and he appeared in Ambush at Cimarron Pass (1958). His many guest spots on television included Gunsmoke, Bonanza, Death Valley Days, Perry Mason, Highway Patrol, Sky King, Planet of the Apes and Bewitched, and in 1959 he starred in the series Police Station as Sergeant White. He died in 1982.
