Barry Cahill

Barry Cahill was a Canadian-born American actor whose career in film, theater and television lasted more than fifty years. He was born in Vancouver, British Columbia, in 1921. His film work included Sweet Bird of Youth (1962) and Grand Theft Auto (1977), among others. On television he played Sam Powers in the soap opera The Young and the Restless during the mid-1970s, and he also appeared on The Travels of Jaimie McPheeters, Dynasty and Santa Barbara. Through the 1960s and into the early 1980s he worked steadily on network series, with roles on Rescue 8, Perry Mason, Have Gun Will Travel, Bonanza, Ben Casey, 12 O'Clock High, The Virginian, Mission: Impossible, Gunsmoke, The Rookies, Ironside, Kolchak: The Night Stalker, The Streets of San Francisco, The Six Million Dollar Man, Emergency!, The Waltons, Lou Grant and Quincy M.E. He died in 2012.
