Andy Anderson

Andy Anderson is a New Zealand actor and musician whose work has been based mainly in Australia. Raised in Naenae, Lower Hutt, he attended Naenae College and played in pop and rock and roll bands before heading to Sydney at sixteen to perform in soul clubs for soldiers back from Vietnam. He took over as lead vocalist of the Sydney garage punk group the Missing Links in 1965, sang on its only album, and later moved to Melbourne for Running Jumping Standing Still. He also spent time with the avant-garde theater group Red Mole and sang with the club band Southern Comfort. Acting brought him the role of Jim Sullivan in The Sullivans, regular parts in Gloss, Prisoner, Fire and The Bob Morrison Show, and detective Lochie Renford in Phoenix (1992 to 1993). His films include Anacondas: The Hunt for the Blood Orchid (2004), House of Wax (2005) and Tracker (2010).
