Plot summary

Junko Sato is a waitress whose psychic powers let her see and speak with spirits, and those same powers disturb her daily life and make a steady job hard to keep. She wants to build a business on her gift, yet convincing a skeptical world is a daunting task. Hayakawa, a young psychology graduate student, brings her into his research on the paranormal, and through him she joins the police hunt for a girl kidnapped by a former officer. By coincidence the child gets away from her captor and hides in the equipment case of Koji, Junko's husband and a sound technician. The couple find the unconscious girl at home and decide to keep her secret while Junko leads the police toward her, hoping the case will prove her abilities and keep them from being blamed for the kidnapping.
