Plot summary
A bank robbery in Hong Kong turns into a shootout when five young thieves open fire on the officers who chase them. Chief Inspector Chan Kwok-wing's squad is wiped out in the ambush, and he is the only one to come out alive; among the dead is Hong, the younger brother of his girlfriend Ho Yee. Chan takes a year's leave and drinks, until a young man named Frank Cheng pushes him to reopen the case. Chan's colleague Chief Inspector Chiu Chan challenges them to solve it first, and a former colleague, Sam Wong, produces a clue from the robbery: a watch pulled from one of the gang, who like to play X-games.
