Did you know?!Facts and trivia about Revolt (2017)
Can contain spoilers, watch the movie first.
- According to The Hollywood Reporter, Revolt's producers -- Voltage Pictures, Automatik and 42 Productions -- ran a $15,000 Indiegogo campaign, matched dollar for dollar, to fund a football field, drug counseling and a car wash for a town near Johannesburg that had helped during the shoot, said to be the first time a Hollywood production had done this.
- Miale wanted to shoot the Kenya-set story in Kenya itself, but that proved unworkable, so the production moved to Johannesburg, filming largely inside disused gold mine facilities.
- One lightning bolt seen in the finished film was not a visual effect: talking about the local electrical storms, the director pointed out that the bolt that struck in the film was completely real.
- Actor Alex Russell was originally attached to play the lead role of Bo before Lee Pace took over the part, for reasons that were never disclosed.
