Plot summary
Will and another young man from the Wester Hailes district of Edinburgh find life in mid-1980s Scotland drab. The two rebel by becoming modern highwaymen, traveling on a Suzuki GP 125 motorbike out of the city and into the Highlands. One wears a clown mask, the other a wolf-man mask, and a toy gun is enough to stop the tourist coaches they waylay on the road. The passengers on board are tourists, and a married couple is among those held up in one of the coaches. The pair take the money carried on the coaches. The hold-ups draw media attention to the pair, and the police pursue them.

- Writer Ninian Dunnett, a journalist, won a film script writing competition run by Lloyds Bank with his screenplay, beating more than 200 other entries before the script was optioned for production.
