Plot summary

Rena Apostolou is a seamstress who speaks her mind and who is under constant financial pressure. When her lottery numbers come up, her money troubles appear to be over, and she starts dreaming big. Then the winning ticket disappears, and she is back where she began, with nothing to show for the jackpot. The loss brings her a great deal of publicity, and the same loss becomes the reason she is famous and the reason she earns a large amount of money. An unscrupulous advertising agency profits from her story, her talent as a dressmaker and her naivety for as long as it can.
