Plot summary
For the civil engineer Ilias Boudounas, honest work brings no substantial result at all. His wife, Lina, urges him to look after his own interests and to enjoy what his work has earned, and he does not take her persistent remarks seriously. A businessman and his director both want Ilias to approve their plans to build a new road, and what each of them wants from the project conflicts with the other. Each tries to draw Ilias into serving its own interest, and approving either plan would mean setting his principles aside for the sake of his own gain.
