Plot summary
A raid by the Colombian army and the CIA kills Raul Reyes, the FARC's number two, in the jungle in 2008. The soldiers take away his computers, and with them ten years of correspondence he wrote as the head of the guerrilla's foreign affairs and as the man negotiating the release of around a hundred hostages, Ingrid Betancourt among them. Those messages bring in arms dealers, diplomats and hitmen as well as politicians and journalists, and the people closest to him, including his children. Around that material stands the world's oldest communist guerrilla and the man who ran it with an iron fist.
