In medieval France, Quasi Modo works as a torturer beside his co-worker and hut mate Duchamp, and their duties include the culinary student Michel. A drawing that week offers the winner a personal meeting with the pope, and Duchamp hands Quasi a ticket out of sympathy. Quasi wins, becomes popular, and Duchamp turns jealous.
