Plot summary
Leah Reyes is a teenager drawn to black magic and occult practices. Her father has died, and her grieving mother decides they should start over in a house in the woods, which means Leah leaves her school friends behind. Mother and daughter argue fiercely, and Leah wishes her mother dead. She takes one of her books into the forest and performs an occult ritual meant to have the demon Pyewacket kill her mother. Leah and her mother get along again soon afterwards, and Leah regrets what she did. Noises then come from the attic of the house, and piles of dirt appear on the floors.
