Plot summary
John Nguyen comes home from a tour of duty in Iraq and finds civilian life hard to manage; he is a war hero struggling with post-traumatic stress. One day he hears a scream, investigates, and fights several Aryan Nation thugs who are harassing Tanya, a prostitute working for the local crime boss Hollis. Tanya is appalled that John killed all but one of them and warns him that Hollis will want them both dead. Hollis, meanwhile, persuades Tanya to stay in the city by promising her a life off the streets, and sends his lieutenant Vin after John's family.
