Plot summary
Shawn Spencer, Burton Guster and Juliet O'Hara relocated to San Francisco three years ago. After Juliet's police partner, Sam Sloane, is shot, Shawn and Gus try to learn who was responsible and why. A mysterious organization is threatening Juliet's reputation and safety, and she first refuses help, until a bad turn tied to the shooting changes her mind. Shawn also will not marry until he recovers his grandmother's engagement ring, taken from his father's house without permission and stolen the night he proposed. His search puts him at odds with a major Bay Area fencer of stolen goods. Gus's boss is unhappy that Shawn has brought his business into Gus's workplace.

- Timothy Omundson, returning as Carlton "Lassie" Lassiter, suffered a stroke just before shooting of Psych: The Movie was to begin, so the script was partially rewritten; he appears in only one scene, filmed in Vancouver months after the main shoot.
