Plot summary
Elvis Presley is stationed in West Germany when a party brings him together with Priscilla Beaulieu, who is fourteen and lives in Bad Nauheim, where her father also serves. Presley, already hugely famous when he was drafted in 1958, takes an interest in her, and the two begin dating casually, though her parents are uneasy about the age gap and about his celebrity. He returns to the United States, and they lose touch. In 1962 they get back in contact, and she visits him at Graceland. Before they travel to Las Vegas, he has an assistant mail postcards he has written for her parents. The next year he asks her parents to let Priscilla finish high school in Memphis, with his father Vernon and stepmother Dee. They agree, and she moves there for her senior year.

- In emails later obtained by Variety, Lisa Marie Presley, Elvis's daughter, told Sofia Coppola the script made her father "come across as a predator and manipulative" and called Coppola's perspective "shockingly vengeful and contemptuous". She died in January 2023.
- Presley's estate withheld the music rights, so Sony exited the project; Mubi then acquired those rights and distributed the film in the United Kingdom, Ireland, Germany, the Benelux, Turkey and Latin America.
- Priscilla carries none of Elvis Presley's music on its soundtrack; the score was written by Phoenix, the band of Coppola's husband Thomas Mars, with original music by Sons of Raphael.
- Sofia Coppola said Priscilla ages from 15 to 27 over the film and she wanted the same actress at every stage, which is why Cailee Spaeny, who "looks very young", was cast.
